Unusual sweet and spicy appetizer sauce of hot green pepper – have you tried this before? The spicy marmalade amazingly combines with grilled chicken. Try this marmalade as a sauce for sandwiches – it goes perfect with smoked meat, soft cheese such as feta, and spicy sausages with pickled vegetables or olives.
Green Hot Pepper Marmalade
- 600 g Green long hot peppers
- 300 g sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 30 ml Dry wine (white or red)
- Cut peppers in half, remove the seeds. Coarsely chop the flesh.
- Put the pepper into a small deep saucepan, add a little salt. Add the sugar and the wine (red wine will make the finished marmalade darker). Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the peppers for about 1 hour. Beat the marmalade with a submersible blender. Boil the marmalade for another 30 minutes over low heat. Store the finished marmalade hermetically closed in the refrigerator for 1 week in a glass or ceramic bowl.
